| SGI organized a Robotics workshop ?ROBO-FREAK? at its campus on 2nd and 8th July, 2011. Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI delivered an excellent talk on Robotics including design, fabrication and operation of Robots. Experts from ERDC Lab of SGI introduced ?Robotics? to students and gave live demonstration of various types of Robots. Students participated in the workshop with great zeal and interest. Participating students were awarded certificates for participation.

| Pool Campus Placement Drive: - A Pool campus placement drive was organ-ized at Samalkha group of institutions on 13th May, 2011. In this placement drive a bunch of companies from Corporate world like IGB technologies, SSIPL (Marketing) and People Strong (HR) participated.The main objective of this event was to provide placement opportunity to MBA students. More than 500 students were registered through online or on the spot registration. |

A job fair was organized at Samalkha Group of Institutions on 15th March, 2011, attracted a huge number of aspirants. The main objective of this event

Robo-Opus11 is an initiative by Robosapiens India in association with Technex11 IT BHU towards Robotics. It?s a National level Robotics Championship. The prelim rounds will be organized at Samalkha
Group of Institutions. Robo Opus will be held across India by holding prelim rounds at 25 Zonal centers. Zonal Winner of Robo Opus will participate in the
final Round of Robo Opus 2011 at IT-BHU during Technex11 on 3rd -6th March?11. |

| TECHNOVISION CELEBRATION:
After organizing successfully its 1st Tech- fest (?Technovision-2010?), SGI organized ?Tech-fest? again, christened as ?Technovision-2010 (Second Inning)? at its campus from 3rd to 4th December, 2010. Degree of student participation was very high and about fifty projects from SGI and twenty projects from neighboring Colleges/ Schools were displayed. Some of the prime projects displayed by students included Hydraulic Lift, Motorized Material Handling System, Break failure indicator, Front door guard system, Anti theft alarm for bikes, Railway crossing system & Fuel reserve indicator. |

Recently SGI concluded a Tie-Up with Microsoft for providing MS Office specialist certification.SGI is providing this specialist certification programs in its Labs. SGI has upgraded the software and hardware required to complete this certification. This certification will not only help the students in getting them placable in the market but also help them in their curriculum during their degree programme. |

| Mega Placement Event by IBM at Samalkha Group of Institutions:
A mega placement drive was held on 25th September, 2010 at SGI Campus. Event was organized by SGI in collaboration with IBM India Pvt. Ltd. IBM has offered 1100 openings during the event. More than two thousand students registered for the event. SGI campus today was full of students from various Cities and States. All the participating students were provided tea, snacks and lunch in addition to transport facilities from adjoining areas. Even many leading institutes deputed their students for participation in the placement event. |

| Indian Air Force Visits SGI:
Squadron Leader Kartekein and Flt.Lt.Chetna Gullia from ?7? Wing base of Indian Air Force visited SGI on 1st June, 2010 to have interactive discussion with our B.Tech & MBA students regarding placement opportunities in IAF. Dr.Rajesh Goel,Director,SGI while welcoming the team of officers from IAF appreciated their gesture of visiting SGI for guiding students. He also inspired young students to come forward and save the nation by joining Indian Armed Forces. Prof.HL Chhatwal,Dean Management gave an excellent presentation entitled ?Guardians of the Indian Skies?. In his inspiring presentation he gave detailed information about the state of the art technologies being used by IAF. He inspired young minds to join IAF to have an exposure to these technologies and be a proud ?Air Warrior? with wings on their chest. |

| Industrial Visit:
MBA students of SGI visited the works of M/s Indo- Asian Fuse Gear Ltd., Murthal on 3rdApril, 2010. Students and faculty members were received by Head, HR. Head, HR then briefed the students about the Organizational Structure, Products and future Business-plans of the company. Students were then taken round in all the Departments i.e Receipt & Inspection, Production Shops, Assembly, Testing & Packing. Students took interest in all the operations and clarified their doubts about various types of perations. Visit ended with thanks giving and excellent brunch.

On 23rd Sept. 2009, Glowing tributes were paid to Martyrs onthe occasion of Haryana Heroes and Martyrdom Day. Wreaths were laid on the memorials of the Martyrs. A two minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to
the Martyrs. Rich tributes were also paid to Rao Tula Ram, the great patriot of the 1857 freedom movement. |

The Chairman Addressed the Students
The students were accorded warm welcome by Sh. Ajay Goyal, the
Chairman of the college. The orientation programme, was aimed to
acquaint the students with the institutional ethos and enable them to
cope with the demands of engineering programme. In his welcome
address, he said that SGI have all the necessary resources which are
required to develop a student as a full fledge engineer ready to meet the
challenge in the industry. He called upon them to take full advantage of
the various resources of SGI. |
